2026 MultiGP Global Qualifier (second run)
OVERVIEW
We are excited to host our second (of two) MultiGP GLOBAL QUALIFIER events in 2026 Edmonton, Alberta!
All skill levels — first-timers encouraged — spectators welcome.
VENUE
We will be racing at the Ministik Park greenspace in Strathcona County, located Southeast of Edmonton on Highway 14. Google Maps Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WJJ9BcKho9tuqg5s7
RACE FORMAT
The Global Qualifier is a time trial – all pilots will be able to fly a maximum of 10 packs to set your best 3-lap qualifying time. Results will be posted to the global leaderboard to see where you stack up against pilots worldwide!
TRACK
The track design will be available on the MultiGP website and in Velocidrone so that you can practice in advance.
PILOT REQUIREMENTS
As we are a MAAC (Model Aeronautics Association of Canada) club and our insurance comes from MAAC, all pilots need a MAAC membership. You can sign up for MAAC at the event. If cost is an issue, let us know and we can help: https://maac.ca/membership/join
Individual pilots are responsible for ensuring they meet all Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) requirements. Reminder that all aircraft above 250g must be registered with Transport Canada and pilots must have at least basic RPAS certification.
DRONE REQUIREMENTS
This will be an OPEN CLASS time trial: Maximum AUW 800g, maximum battery charge of 4.35v per cell, maximum size 305mm (diagonal between motors).
Video transmitters must be set to 25mw using either Analog or HDZero on Raceband channels 1 through 8. DJI and Walksnail drones are permitted but will fly in separate heats to prevent conflicts with other video systems.
ENTRY FEE
For this event, the race fee will be a $10 donation toward either the Veteran’s Association Food Bank or toward the Lazerte high school athletic programs. Links to donate are below, and cash works too:
