SUMMARY:Nov 29 WCFF IGNITER Whoop Race
DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW \nWe are excited to host our chapter’s next MultiGP drone race in Edmonton\, Alberta! \nAll skill levels — first-timers encouraged — spectators welcome. \nVENUE \nWe will be racing in the Western Canada Fire & First Aid warehouse (4120 101 Street). Park anywhere out front and enter via the warehouse door which is to the left of the main business doors. Google Maps Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/v6y6Qkh2fZtarko46 \nRACE FORMAT \nAll pilots will get to participate in a practice heat and approximately six qualifying heats in the morning\, followed by races in the afternoon. The race format will ensure pilots are matched with other pilots of similar skill level. \nTRACK \nThe track will be designed and set up on the morning of the race and there will be a walkthrough to explain the race course and answer questions. \nPILOT REQUIREMENTS \nAs we are a MAAC (Model Aeronautics Association of Canada) club and our insurance comes from MAAC\, all pilots need a MAAC membership. You can sign up for MAAC at the event. If cost is an issue\, let us know and we can help. \nhttps://maac.ca/membership/join \nDRONE REQUIREMENTS \nThis will be an IGNITER CLASS whoop race (see www.undergrounddroneleague.com for Igniter spec requirements). Any pilot that has placed in the top 4 of prior NAFL races will be required to fly this class – other pilots are free to use any fully-ducted single-cell (1S) whoop. Video transmitters must be set to 25mw using either Analog or HDZero on Raceband channels 1 through 8. DJI and Walksnail drones are permitted but will fly in separate heats to prevent conflicts with other video systems. \nENTRY FEE / REGISTRATION \nSign-ups for all of our races are done via the MultiGP website – log in to your pilot account (or create one – it’s free) and join the race: https://www.multigp.com/chapters/view/?chapter=Northern-Alberta-FPV-League \nFor this event\, the race fee will be a $10 donation toward either the Veteran’s Association Food Bank or toward the Lazerte high school athletic programs.
